Via Skim is Lumenwerx's 3-inch-aperture recessed grazing member of the Via platform, designed to illuminate textured or polished vertical surfaces with a continuous sheet of light from the wall/ceiling intersection. Its Grazing Reflector Optic (GRO) projects maximum luminous intensity at 5° from nadir to skim the wall plane (it is not recommended for drywall surface applications). Two housing depths are offered — shallow (V3SKIS) and deep (V3SKID) — with total recessed depth ranging from 4 3/4" to 7" and a 3 1/32" cross-section. Delivered output is specified at 350 lm/ft (low), 500 lm/ft (medium), and 750 lm/ft (high), with efficacy up to 75 lm/W. LEDs ship in 2700/3000/3500/4000K at a minimum 80 CRI, with an optional 90 CRI and elevated R9, held to 3 SDCM. Standard sections run 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 12 ft and join seamlessly into continuous runs over 12 ft (2 ft minimum section) using field-installed joiner kits. A factory-set, adjustable-output driver takes universal 120–277V (347V optional) input and dims 100–1% on 0–10V, with DALI and Lutron Hi-lume 1% EcoSystem options; driver rated life is 50,000 hours (90% survivorship) at 50 °C ambient. Via Skim recesses into exposed or concealed T-bar and tegular grid ceilings (9/16" and 15/16" tegular and T-bar, screw-slot T-bar) or drywall with trim, trimless, or mud-flange details, is IC rated for direct contact with insulation, and is TechZone and USG compatible with a 4" ceiling. ETL listed to UL 1598 and CSA C22.2 No. 250.0 for indoor dry/damp locations, Chicago Plenum approved (CCEA) with the CP option, and backed by a five-year limited warranty.
